Election assistance by The League of Women Voters available in Flint

September and October are the months to get prepared for the November election, and the League of Women Voters of the Flint Area (serving Genesee, Lapeer & Tuscola Counties) is ready to help.
Every week in September and October, the League will be hosting an information table at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library.  The information station will be held on Wednesdays, Sept 18, Oct 2 ,Oct 16 and Oct 30 from 12-2 and on Thursdays, Sept 12, Sept 26, Oct 10 and Oct 24 from 5-7.  Volunteers will be available to provide election information, register voters and answer questions.
Also in September, the League will be hosting a workshop  “Preparing For the General Election” on Wednesday, September 25 from 5-7 at the Flint Development Center, 4121 MLK Avenue.  Focus will be on new voting laws and Mis and Dis Information.  As we are faced every day with more and more information, everyone needs to be able to tell facts from falsehoods.  A light supper will be provided, so reservations to 810-962-6434 are required.
The League is a nonpartisan political organization whose mission is “Empowering Voters  Defending Democracy”.  They invite members of the community to help in our efforts.  Contact the League at lwvflintarea@gmail.com or call/text 810-358-9243 for information and/or membership.
