Big Brothers, Big Sisters still providing mentorship in virtual format, family adopted through program

For 76 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, one-to-one, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6-18, in communities across the Genesee Country. The organization develops positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County continues to provide support to youth enrolled in its one-to-one mentoring programs during the holidays through the generosity of the community. Robert Half Staffing Agency has adopted a Big Brothers Big Sisters’ family for over five years. The COVID-19 pandemic was not going prevent their staff from adopting a family this year and they shifted to purchasing their gifts online to ensure their team’s safety, recognizing the need was greater than ever.

The team at Robert Half is committed to empowering resilience in youth in Flint and Genesee County so they may realize their potential building their biggest possible futures.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County continues amidst these challenging times to provide the gift of mentorship to youth throughout our community. The agency made the necessary pivots and transitioned its service delivery to a virtual format. Recognizing the urgency of mentoring, now more than ever, for our youth in these times of social isolation, recruitment efforts remain a priority.
