Big Brothers Big Sisters commemorates summer learning by celebrating Class of 2022 high school graduates

Annual Summer Learning Day will highlight graduates enrolled in BBBS Programs
Flint, MI–Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) will commemorate National Summer Learning Week
(July 11-15, 2022) by hosting a Summer Learning Day from 3-7 p.m. on July 13 at
Bluebell Beach, 5500 North Bray Road, in Flint. During this event from 4 -5 p.m., Big Brothers Big Sisters will host a special celebration for the class of 2022 high school graduates that are enrolled in BBBS programs.

The graduates will be honored for their academic achievements and for being an inspiration to
the next generation of young people that are enrolled in the program. Through creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth, BBBS strives to promote greater confidence, avoidance of risky behaviors and educational success among the youth that they serve. The average length of time that the 2022 High School graduating class has been matched to a mentor is over 7 years.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Class of 2022 graduating mentees include: Ashton, Noely, Andre, Ashantee, Jaydin, Nykeyera, I’yanna, Christopher, Colin, Christian, Jayden, Antonio, Chad, Isiah, Antoinezsia, Joaquin, Ariel, Faheem and  BreAnna.

Summer Learning Day highlights the importance of learning throughout the summer and offers fun learning activities, food and games. Activities centered around STEM, mindfulness and movement will be featured, and local organizations that offer useful services to Flint and Genesee County residents will be present for parents and guardians.
This event is free and open to youth enrolled in BBBS programs, their mentors and their families.
