AG Nessel Seeks New Prosecutor to Review Flint Water Cases

By Sheri L. Stuart, Staff Writer

Michigan’s new Attorney General Dana Nessel has asked Wayne County prosecutor Kym Worthy to review the criminal investigation stemming from Flint’s drinking water crisis. Nessel has said she hopes to replace current prosecutor Todd Flood and to settle the civil lawsuits arising from the city’s water crisis. Flood was appointed by Nessel’s predecessor, Bill Schuette. Worthy has not yet agreed to take on the criminal cases but issued a statement saying that her office would conduct an independent evaluation of the Flint water criminal cases.
