FLINT, Mich. — The City of Flint is encouraging residents to clean up their properties and help keep neighborhoods safe by participating in the City’s Tire Buyback Program on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The program provides Flint residents with an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted tires while earning cash in return. Residents will receive $1 per tire, up to $25 per household, with proof of Flint residency required.

“Programs like the Tire Buyback help us address illegal dumping, reduce environmental hazards and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Sheldon Neeley. “By working together, we can create cleaner, safer communities for all Flint residents.”

Discarded tires can collect standing water and become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, while also contributing to blight and illegal dumping. The Tire Buyback Program offers a simple and effective way for residents to properly dispose of tires and help beautify the city.
