Nine professionals graduate from local leadership development program, applications open for ‘26-‘27 cohort

(Flint, Mich., 05/07/2026) — For 53 years, Leadership Flint & Genesee and similar programs have been training the next generation of leaders in our community. Leaders like Corinthian Carouthers, owner of Creative Hair School of Cosmetology; Claudnyse Holloman, president and CEO of Voices for Children Advocacy Center; and Ashnee Dunning, executive director of The Power Initiative & Flint Freedom Schools Collaborative, have participated in the eight-month program, which is designed to help foster and grow leadership qualities.
“We are excited to welcome nine new leaders into our Leadership Flint & Genesee alumni base,” said Brianna Mosier, executive director of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent.
Mosier added: “This year’s cohort was filled with community members from all levels who have made significant growth. We can’t wait to see how they use that growth as leaders in our community.”

The graduating cohort included Tia Coles (YWCA of Greater Flint), Jennifer Conkright (Mott Community College), Lesly Foreman (A&D Home Health Care & Hospice), Allen Gable (Lewis & Knopf CPAs, P.C.), Erich Latham (GST Michigan Works!), Jamall Merritt (Flint & Genesee Group), Taylor Neeley (Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates), Marie Preketes (Mott Community College) and Sav Turbett (Flint & Genesee Group).  

Applications for the next cohort of Leadership Flint & Genesee open on May 20, with the first information session that same day. Information sessions, including the one on May 20 and a second session on June 3, are held virtually and are required before completing the application. The application deadline is July 3. Other criteria and qualifications needed for the program include two years of professional experience, approval from a current employer and commitment to regular attendance. The cohort meets monthly from September to March.
