African American Artists of Michigan Exhibition at the Greater Flint Arts Council (GFAC) is a glorious show of how talented our area artists are. The opening was held on Flint Art Walk night, which is always a great time to look at art and talk to the artists. Music was provided live by Phil Young and Friends.

The show is held every February to celebrate Black History Month. It will be open until March 6, 2026. GFAC is open weekdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. No admission charge.
Stop by, you are sure to know some of the artists!

GFAC is located at 816 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI 48502. Call 810-238-ARTS for more information.

Don’t forget the other two exhibits in Flint celebrating Black artists. The fabulous MW Gallery is directly across from GFAC. The collection features artists of the African diaspora. Info at: https://m-wc.org/mwgallery.html
The Flint Institute of Arts (FIA) also celebrates Black artists with an annual exhibit. This year the remarkable Eric Key collection is on exhibit. Mr. Key collected a wide range of art, and there is something here for everyone to relate to. More info at: https://flintarts.org/
