Genesee District Library seeking nominations to honor people doing good work in the community

September 19, 2022 – Flint, Michigan – Do you know someone who is doing good work in the community?  Each year, the Genesee District Library honors individuals and organizations who are doing important service work at the annual Black History Month Brunch.

Nominations for the Award of Excellence and the Partner in Progress Award may be submitted online at https://www.thegdl.org/bhmbnomination/.  The nomination should describe in detail the good work the nominee has done and give many examples of their service to the community.

Nominations close on September 30, 2022.

ABC12 Anchor Matt Franklin will emcee the event. Plans are ongoing, but Kuungana African Drum and Dance Company and Gwen Pennyman-Hemphill will perform.

The 22nd Annual Black History Month Brunch will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Genesys Conference & Banquet Center in Grand Blanc.

Tickets for the event go on sale December 1.  They are $35 each and can be purchased at the William F. Delaney Headquarters Library, 4195 W.
