After reviewing the Flint Police Department investigation report regarding the March 23 alleged assault at the Flint Community Schools finance committee meeting, the Flint City Attorney’s office has authorized criminal charges against Danielle Green for (1) assault and battery and (2) disrupting a public meeting. Both charges are misdemeanor violations of city ordinance.
At approximately 11:07 a.m. on March 23, Flint Police Department responded to Flint Community Schools Administration Building, for a report of an alleged assault that had taken place between two Flint Community School board members. Upon arrival, officers contacted board member Laura Macintyre, who reported to police that she was assaulted by board member Danielle Green, who had left the Administration Building prior to police arrival. Detailed information was taken from board member Macintyre regarding the alleged assault. In addition, medical attention was offered and declined at that time. Macintyre later received medical attention with her family physician.
The case was then assigned to Flint Police Detective Bureau for investigative follow up. Flint Police detectives had been in contact with Macintyre and several witnesses present during the incident seeking additional information needed before submitting the case to the city of Flint Attorney’s Office for review.
The defendant has not yet been arraigned. Once arraigned, a pre-trial will be scheduled by the 67th District Court.
