Tuesday, local McDonald’s owner/operators were joined by Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley and State Representative Cynthia Neeley  handed out 300 turkeys to families who have students who attend Richfield Early Learning Center.  NAACP Flint Branch representatives were also present.

Families were able to move through a drive-thru distribution line at Richfield Early Learning Center and safely receive a turkey, provided by McDonald’s and other food items, provided by community organizations.

Across the state, McDonald’s has donated more than 2,400 turkeys this November at a series of events including this one in Flint and another one Tuesday morning at the McDonald’s restaurant at 1454 N. Michigan Ave., in Saginaw.  In each area, McDonald’s worked with local schools, churches and organizations to guarantee a safe and efficient distribution by notifying recipients ahead of time.

“We are always happy to give back to the community that has supported us for many years,” said Rob Spangler, Flint McDonald’s owner/operator.

“It’s in our DNA to give back, and this partnership with Richfield Early Learning Center is a great situation for everyone involved,” Spangler added.
