3-year-old Flint child dies after being shot

On May 17, a 3-year-old boy was shot in his home and has died.

The shooting occurred in the 2200 block of Cadillac Street, in Flint

Officers with the Flint Police Department responded after the boy was brought into Hurley Medical Center by a private vehicle. The child was later pronounced dead.

Police said it appears the shooting was self-inflicted and accidental, and there are no suspects.

Police have not determined how the child gained possession of the gun. The investigation will continue.
