Woodside Church, a fixture in Flint since the 1800s, is seeking a marketing professional to help rebrand and rename this progressive Christian congregation.
In 2019, Woodside moved from its long-time home adjacent to Mott College to its new home in the Carriage Town neighborhood, the former home of Carriage Town Antiques and Hoffman’s Deco Deli. In its new location, the congregation has begun to realize its old name no longer fits.
Woodside is a multi-denominational, multi-racial congregation welcoming of the LGBTQ community, and standing against oppression of any kind. It tries to model itself after the powerful and political work of Jesus, working for civil rights and voting rights; the end of exploitation of people and animals; the welcome of immigrants and refugees; freedom for those incarcerated; homes for those without; and wages that lead to well-being.
If you believe this is a congregation you could help move into the next era of life, Woodside invites your proposal.
Women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply.
More information and a Request for Proposals is available here: t.ly/eSle. General information about the congregation is available at WoodsideChurch.net. The deadline has been extended; proposals are due by March 15.
