Traffic crash in north Flint leaves two victims in critical condition

On Wednesday, December 3 at 4:13 p.m., a traffic crash occurred in the city of Flint on Fleming Rd. near W. Myrtle Avenue.

The on-scene investigation revealed that victim 2, Rhashanda Rachel Benedict F/W/11-04-1989, was operating a white Chevrolet Express Van southbound on Fleming Rd. and crossed over the centerline striking a red GMC Sierra traveling northbound on Fleming Rd. head-on and causing the Sierra to overturn. Victim #2, a Juvenile Male / 13, was a passenger in the Chevrolet Express Van.

Both victims were transported to Hurley Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition. The sole occupant of the Sierra suffered only minor injuries.

It is unclear at this time if speed, alcohol, and/or drugs were a contributing factor to this traffic crash.
