Free tickets being offered to the Flint’s Got Talent Showcase at the FIM Capitol Theatre November 4

Tickets are FREE to the Flint’s Got Talent Showcase at the FIM Capitol Theatre, November 4, 7 p.m. thanks to the support of funders.

Teens throughout Genesee County have been submitting electronic auditions since August for a chance at one of the 10 finalist positions for the show.
Hosting the show at the Capitol means the producers are able to give the performers the full professional experience from sound checks to seamstress to avoid wardrobe malfunctions. Those producers are the non-profits WOW-Outreach, the long-time violence reduction organization in town, and iMichigan Productions’ Flint Youth Media Project, which provides several programs to engage youth in creative performing and media arts.
Flint’s Got Talent took shape with the help of a Flint ReCast grant in 2022 to give voice to Flint-area youth as they heal from the challenges that have confronted the community over the past the years. Communication in any form is one of the many activities that help with the healing. This year’s funding comes from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council’s Community Arts Grant Program.
