The 45th Annual MLK Tribute Dinner theme is “Momentum vs Regression”

(FLINT, Mich, Dec. 8, 2023) — The 45th Annual Citywide Tribute Dinner honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will be Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at the Genesys Banquet Center in Grand Blanc. Centered on the theme “Momentum versus Regression – Striving for a level playing field.” This year’s keynote address will be given by 67th District Court Judge Tabitha Marsh.

The dinner celebration, scheduled to start at 6 p.m., is open to the public. Tickets are $50 per person. Event sponsorships are available for $500 and admit 8 individuals. The Tribute Dinner is presented by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Planning Committee, co-sponsored by Mott Community College, The University of Michigan-Flint, Kettering University, the Flint Jewish Federation, Hamilton Community Health Network and the Flint & Genesee Group. About the Keynote Speaker:

Judge Tabitha M. Marsh earned her Juris Doctorate degree in 2004 from Michigan State University College of Law. In 2020, Judge Marsh was elected to the 67th District Court, representing the City of Flint. She is the only female currently serving on the City of Flint District Court bench, and the only African American female serving on the Genesee County District Court bench.

Additionally, Judge Marsh is a licensed minister and a member of Embassy Covenant Church International, where has served in various positions and is currently a member of the Church’s Presbytery Board, Prophetic Department and Ministerial Team.

Judge Marsh is active in the community. Her affiliations include: the State Bar of Michigan, Association of Black Judges of Michigan, Genesee County Bar Association, Mallory VanDyne Scott Bar Association, Executive Board Embassy Covenant Church International Presbytery Board and Ministerial Team, Flint Children’s Museum, Executive Board Flint Institute of Arts Gala Committee, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, The Links, Flint Women’s Forum, the NAACP-Flint Chapter, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County, The Scholars Etiquette and Self Image Institute, and the National Multicultural Diversity Institute.
