Sunday shooting in Flint resulting in one death being investigated

Flint, MI – July 21, 2024 – Shortly after 2 p.m.  on July 21,  at 2002 South Dort Highway, the Travel Inn Flint, officers discovered a female victim with a fatal gunshot wound. Another victim was transported to Hurley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police department is actively investigating this violent crime, which tragically resulted in one fatality.

“We urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward and assist us in our investigation,” stated spokesperson Detective Tyrone Booth.

Booth added: “Community cooperation is crucial in putting an end to such senseless violence.”

In light of this recent event, the City of Flint Police Department calls upon community stakeholders to unite and collaborate on solutions to combat and reduce violent acts in the city.
