Silence the Violence Walk to take place starting at Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village

WHEN: Saturday May 24th Memorial Day Weekend:
With Press Conference :12:30 pm @ Sylvester Broome conference room
(Walk Starts @1:30 p.m)

Community members are being asked to wear orange or a memorial shirt of their loved ones for this event. Any organization is welcome to wear their shirts.

The walk will start at Sylvester Broome building and end the walk at Dewey park behind Sylvester Broome parking lot area on Saginaw St. There will be speakers & refreshments for the community. During the press conference, the purpose of the event and moving towards accomplishing those goals will be discussed.

Actor Hill Harper, NFL Player Roy Smith, City of Flint Mayor and other speakers from around the state will offer their words. Local CVI Groups and pastors will also speak briefly.

We are welcome to help spread a positive message against all violent acts.

This event will be filmed by Sundial Networks as well as other Media Outlets.
