Ophelia Bonner Scholarship Fund 8K, 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk to Honor Veterans

                This year's annual Ophelia Bonner Scholarship Fund Road Race will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, 8:00 a.m. Due to renovation of the University Pavilion in downtown Flint, registration for the road race will be held at The Harding Mott University Center, 400 Mill Street, Flint, MI 48503 (off Kearsley and Chavez St.), at 6:30 a.m.

                Early registration is now through July 20, 2015. Late registration and packet pickup will be on Friday, July 24 at Bauman's Running Center from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Only cash and cashier checks will be accepted as forms of payment.  Register Online:  https://runsignup.com/opheliabonner  Entry Fee: $15 early w/shirt and $20 late fee also with t-shirt.  Awards are as follows:  Bauman's Running & Walking Shop Gift Certificates, $100 for 1st place male and female runners, $50 for 2nd place and $25 for 3rd place.  All pre-registered entrants will receive a beautiful t-shirt depicting a list of road race sponsors.  We appreciate and look forward to the participation of the community in this fundraising event.

        This road race was founded by the late Mrs. Ophelia Bonner in 1969. This Christian legend's vision represented resources, advancement and opportunities for young people following graduation from high school.  In 1978 Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church pledged to continue this vision in Mrs. Ophelia Bonner's memory.  Over 400 scholarships have been awarded to students in pursue of a college education.
