Only one candidate remains for Flint City Clerk position

Written By Jameca Patrick-Singleton

Interim City Clerk Davina Donahue is the only applicant remaining for the permanent position after Angela Guillen, another applicant, has reportedly removed herself from the application pool. The Flint City Council is now working with the legal department on the best way to move forward in the process.

Davina Donahue has served as interim city clerk since October 1, 2022, finishing out the term for Inez Brown, who retired at the end of September after serving as clerk for 25 years.

The deadline for applications was October 31, 2022. Twenty-five people applied for the job but only two applicants met the minimum qualifications according to the city’s Human Resources Department.
