Michigan U.S. Senate Candidate Dr. Pamela Pugh announces new round of nearly 40 endorsements from Genesee County

FLINT, MI – The Pugh for Michigan campaign recently announced a new round of endorsements from Genesee County for Dr. Pamela Pugh’s U.S. Senate campaign. These endorsements represent an unstoppable people-powered movement that is growing in Michigan and a testament to the impact she has had in the region. With this new round of endorsements, the total number of endorsements for Dr. Pamela Pugh’s U.S. Senate campaign reaches nearly 80 endorsements from current and former elected officials, business leaders, clergy, community leaders and artists who represent the very best of what Michigan has to offer.

“I’m grateful to have endorsements from a wide range of community leaders in the city of Flint and Genesee County,” said Pugh. These endorsements mean so much to this race because these leaders represent the same communities that have given me the experiences and the grit to take our fight to Washington. I may not be the establishment’s choice nor am I a Hollywood actor, but I am the only proven leader that has fought for Michigan families for over 25 years. The others may have the money, but I will have the backing of everyday people.”

“Pam Pugh has proven herself as a leader,” said Dr. Karen Weaver, former mayor of the city of Flint, and chair of Dr. Pugh’s U.S. Senate campaign.

“I’ve been at the table with her and watched her in action,” Weaver added. “I never saw her step away or be quiet on issues of importance. I can speak to her expertise, knowledge and commitment, and what I witnessed firsthand of her handling of a public health crisis, the Flint Water Crisis. I witnessed her fight and tenacity in the education crisis, speaking up for students across this great state, her mission to protect people’s health during the COVID-19 pandemic, and even today, addressing our issue of air quality, resulting from fires from the North. Michigan is in dire straits. Now more than ever we need a fearless leader who understands the issues, and I don’t know a more qualified person running for U.S. Senate than Pam Pugh.”

Dr. Pamela Pugh stepped in as chief public health advisor for the City of Flint during one of the worst man-made water crises in our nation’s history.

“Pam’s unwavering faith and strong moral compass have guided her in serving our community,” said Allen Overton Sr., pastor at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

“Her commitment to social justice and uplifting those in need aligns perfectly with the values we hold dear,” Overton added. “Pamela Pugh is a leader who can bring about positive change, and I am proud to support her in her campaign for the U.S. Senate.”

Councilwoman Tonya Burns, a member of Flint City Council, highlights Dr. Pugh’s commitment to the betterment of the community, saying, “Pamela Pugh has demonstrated a strong commitment to the betterment of our community. Her work to address the challenges faced by our city and her dedication to promoting equity and justice have made a significant impact. I believe Pamela Pugh is the leader we need in the U.S. Senate to fight for the interests of Flint and all of Michigan.”

Michael Clack, president of the Flint Community Schools Board of Education, commends Dr. Pugh’s advocacy for education, stating, “Dr. Pamela Pugh has consistently advocated for the educational needs of our children. Her tireless efforts to improve our schools and ensure that every student has access to a quality education are commendable. I am confident that she will continue to be a strong voice for education in the U.S. Senate.”

Recognizing Pamela Pugh’s deep understanding of community challenges and commitment to grassroots efforts. Dr. E. Hill DeLoney, a prominent community leader states, “Pamela Pugh’s deep understanding of the challenges faced by our communities and her commitment to grassroots efforts make her an exceptional candidate. She has consistently worked alongside community organizations to address critical issues and uplift our neighborhoods. I am proud to endorse Pamela Pugh for the U.S. Senate.”

Dr. Pugh’s proven leadership, as demonstrated during the Flint Water Crisis, combined with her commitment to addressing urgent issues such as the climate crisis, the attack on public education, and the attack on democracy due to right-wing extremism, makes her the leader that Michigan needs in Washington.
