Flint, MI — On May 9, 2026, women from across the Flint community gathered at Empowered Believers Church for the “Women’s Mental Health & Empowerment Experience,” a mother & daughter brunch focused on healing, leadership, mental wellness and empowerment during Mental Health Awareness Month.
Hosted by Dr. Tiffany Jean Quinn in partnership with Building Strong Women, the event created a meaningful space for women to connect through worship, reflection, testimony, education and authentic conversation surrounding mental health and personal growth.
The event was made possible through the support and community outreach efforts of Pastor Johnnie and First Lady Brown, whose commitment to outreach and community engagement helped bring the vision to life.

The brunch featured keynote speaker Dr. Nikki Zeigler, internationally known as “The Master Visibility Expert.” Zeigler delivered a powerful message encouraging women to become visible, walk boldly in purpose, and break through barriers limiting their growth and success.
Lady Marilyn Brown served as emcee, helping create an atmosphere filled with prayer transparency, encouragement and healing. Attendees described the moment by saying, “Lady Marilyn brought the oil, and Dr. Nikki brought the fire.”
The event opened with worship and exhortation by Psalmist Danett Threlkeld-Cohn, setting the tone for an afternoon centered on faith, emotional wellness and restoration.

Featured presenters included:
• Dr. Darcele Robinson — Mental Health & Burnout
• Dr. Devin Willis — Counseling Psychiatrist
• Deaconess Michele Scott — Sermonette
• Empowered Believers Church — Host Church
Attendees also had access to vendors, networking opportunities, wellness education, and mental health resources from community organizations including Genesee Health System.
“This was more than a brunch,” said Dr. Tiffany Quinn. “Women were able to heal, reflect, laugh, network and leave feeling empowered. We wanted women to understand that healing is not weakness — healing is leadership. Healed women truly lead differently.”
Community sponsors and supporters included Empowered Believers Church, The Herpreneur Network, Genesee Health System, Donations With Love Foundation, Healthy Just Feels Right, Regrets Only Event Planning, LLC, Attorney Ashley Pew and Kristen Nolen-Winfield.

Due to the overwhelming community response, organizers said additional women’s empowerment and mental wellness events are already in development. Zeigler said that there’s unfinished business in Flint and plans to return.
