McLaren Flint’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee joins forces this year with the Case Management Department to host the Virtual Community Resource Day. From 2 – 5 p.m., on Wednesday, May 26, Genesee County residents can log into Zoom and speak with area agencies that assist with individual and family services.
The organizations participating in the Virtual Community Resource Day can assist with health, finances, loans, housing, rental assistance, food, counseling, homelessness, transportation and more.
In the past, the annual Community Resource Day was held in person at the hospital. During the coronavirus pandemic, case managers and social workers have been an even more vital link between patients and the community resources for a range of health care needs.
“It can be difficult to go through treatment or heal from an illness if you are worried about housing, bills, putting food on the table, among other needs,” said Denyatta Henry, RN, CCS, CCDS, director of case management and utilization management at McLaren Flint.
“This year, we want the community to know there are resources that are still working to help families during this pandemic,” Henry added. “The Virtual Community Resource Day is an opportunity for residents to be directly connected to those services.”
