Local organization that connects youth to education and employment celebrates grand opening

Flint, MI- The Engagement Center,will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 12-2 p.m. The Engagement Center serves 16-24 year-olds who are not enrolled in school and are unemployed, a population known as opportunity youth.

Genesee County has an estimated 10,000+ opportunity youth (Opportunity Youth Data Scorecard, 2017).

The mission of The Engagement Center is to connect opportunity youth to education, employment opportunities and the wraparound services needed to be successful. The Engagement Center partners with over 20 local organizations, including service providers, educators/academics, behavioral health professionals, business and community leaders and workforce development agencies. The goal is to ensure that education and employment opportunities are open to all.

All services provided by The Engagement Center are free of charge.

The Engagement Center invites the community to attend the grand opening to learn more about their services and partnerships. It is located at 4119 N. Saginaw St. Flint, MI 48505, inside of Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village.
