LOCAL 40th ANNUAL DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY COMMUNITY CELEBRATION TAKES PLACE JAN. 18

Flint, MI—Gloria Coles Flint Public Library will host the 40th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Community Celebration on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at noon. The celebration is free and open to the public. The library will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025 to allow for a day of community action and service.

This all-ages event celebrates and honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy with the theme “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365,” which is established by the King Center. Emmy award-winning TV journalist and ABC-12 news anchor Matt Franklin will provide the keynote address. Essence Wilson, co-founder of Communities First, Inc., will be the emcee. Light refreshments will be served following the program.
