JURY CONVICTS GRAND BLANC TWP. MAN OF CSC 1ST DEGREE INVOLVING CHILD

FLINT – Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said a jury on Friday, July 18, found a Grand
Blanc Township man guilty of two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree with
a child under 13 years of age.

Kip Kareem Heller, 53, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25-years in prison for
the convictions.

A complaint by the victim’s mother was made to the Grand Blanc Township police after her daughter told her of being sexually assaulted by Heller between 2016 and 2018 when the victim was four or five years old. The investigation revealed Heller also assaulted two other underage persons in 2010 and 2011.

“The victims in this case were very brave and did an outstanding job testifying before a jury of strangers in open court about a very traumatic experience,” said Prosecutor Leyton after the verdict was returned. “Thanks to their willingness to report, to cooperate with the police investigation and to follow through all the way to trial, we were able to hold this predator accountable under the law and see that justice was served,”
