Congregation and area youth will pray for safety for Genesee County Students

Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church will host area youth and families on Sunday, Jan. 26, at its 10 a.m. worship service for a unity prayer of health and protection.

“As a result of the continued violence that has plagued our communities and inadvertently harmed our children, Grace Emmanuel is bringing the community together in a unified voice to ask for spiritual
intervention for our children in 2025,” said Dr. Rabon L. Turner, pastor of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Pastor Turner added: “At a time when people are making New Year’s resolutions and identifying ways to make themselves better people, we want everyone to include doing what they can to protect our children to their lists.

“Unfortunately, our children are the unintended targets of violence”, said Kelcy Williams, Youth and Young Adult Ministry Chair.

Williams added: “Children are innocents in many of these senseless acts of violence and we, as a community, are asking people to pray with us to intervene for our young people.”

Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church was founded by Rev. Lindell Brady in 1966. Since that time, Grace Emmanuel has been actively serving the greater Flint Community. Since August 2020, Grace Emmanuel
has been under the leadership of Dr. Rabon L. Turner, Sr.
