Genesee Community Health Center celebrates National Health Center Week with Community Block Party

GENESEE COUNTY, MI – Flint and surrounding communities are being invited to celebrate National Health Center Week with Patient Appreciation Day at Genesee Community Health Center (GCHC) on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from Noon to 3 p.m., 725 Mason Street, Flint, 48503. This is a free community block party.

 National Health Center Week, August 3 through 9, celebrates community health centers’ past, present, and future. The GCHC Patient Appreciation Day celebrates patients and their families who utilize the health center’s services daily.

 “We look forward to this event every year at the Genesee Community Health Center,” said Jean Troop, Chief Executive Officer at GCHC. “Our patients are valued and very important to us, and we appreciate their continued trust in our healthcare services. It’s a celebration for our patients and community partners and a welcoming community block party for all.”

 GCHC’s Patient Appreciation Day will include music, inflatable games, free health screenings, a back-to-school supplies giveaway, activities for kids, free food and more. The event is sponsored by Genesee Health Plan, Communities First, Inc., HAP CareSource, Molina Healthcare, Michigan Primary Care Association, Blue Cross Complete of Michigan, Greater Flint Health Coalition, Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Care Network of Michigan, and Genesee Health System.
