FLINT, MI – The Flint Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., along with Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA) and AARP, will host a free Community Shred Day on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd. Flint, MI 48503.
This collaboration is to help raise awareness and promote privacy protection in our community’s fight against fraud and identity theft. The free shredding service will be facilitated by AJP Commercial Shredding. Voter education and registration also will be available.
Communities across the globe are largely at risk of consumer fraud and identity theft. To raise awareness and promote privacy protection, Flint Alumnae Chapter and community partners organized this community shredding event, offering sensitive document shredding for residents.
“We recognize the importance of consumer protection, especially in vulnerable communities with limited resources,” said Tamar Swain, president of the Flint Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.,
Swain added: “Our goal is to provide a safe, convenient and free opportunity for our community to dispose of their personal documents.”
The event is free and open to the public.
