Former Aide Loses Whistleblower Case Against Mayor Karen Weaver

By Sheri L. Stuart, Staff Writer

A federal jury has ruled that former City of Flint Administrator Natasha Henderson did not prove her claim that she was unjustly fired in 2016 by Mayor Karen Weaver.  The jury rejected Henderson’s claim that she was wrongfully terminated after questioning Mayor Weaver’s handling of donations during Flint’s water crisis.  Henderson accused Mayor Weaver of diverting cash donations designated to help residents maneuver the man-made crisis into the Mayor’s own political fund.  Weaver contended that she fired Henderson after she did not disclose a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak.
