FlintNOW Foundation to unveil basketball court renovation at Durant Park in Flint

FLINT – The FlintNOW Foundation, created by Detroit Pistons owner and Flint native Tom Gores, will
unveil the second of three basketball court renovations in conjunction with the Genesee County Parks &
Recreation Commission’s Keep Genesee County Beautiful program and Flint native Jamiersen Green
founder of Leader Quality at Durant Park in Flint on Saturday, July 22.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on the court at Durant Park to unveil the renovation and mural
on Saturday beginning at noon, with representatives from FlintNOW, the Detroit Pistons, the Genesee
County Parks & Recreation Commission and Leader Quality.

Following the ribbon cutting the FlintNOW Foundation will host a free, open-to-the public Community
Fest which will include a Pistons Academy Basketball Clinic from 12:30-1:30 p.m., appearances from
Pistons Dancers and Pistons DJ, giveaways, food trucks and other family fun activities.

Last year, the FlintNow Foundation announced the partnership with the Genesee County Parks &
Recreation Commission’s Keep Genesee County Beautiful program and Green to renovate basketball
courts in three parks (Windiate Park, Durant Park and Riverside West Park) throughout the county. The
initiative tipped off in 2022 with the renovation and mural unveil of Windiate Park and will conclude with
the renovation of Riverside West Park. Funding for the three park projects is provided in part by a grant
from the FlintNOW Foundation.
