Flint Rental Market Featured in New Reality Show

By Sheri L. Stuart, Staff Writer

The producers of a new reality television show have teamed up with a Flint-based property management company and hope to land a network deal.  Just Renting is an unscripted show that features a collaboration between real estate investors and Gebrael Management to buy, rent and maintain single family rentals.  Jack Galvin, a Las Vegas-based investor, is the creator and one of the producers of the show.  He said his team has spent time in Flint and filmed 12 episodes, including a pilot that is being shopped around to major television networks.

“This show is not just about property.  It’s also about people,” said Galvin.  “Every episode is funny and informative and will include a family message,” he said.

While filming in downtown Flint, the production team was surprised recently when it came across cars lined up in front of First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church waiting to receive bottled water donations.  Galvin said that experience served as an emotional reminder that Flint residents are still maneuvering a water crisis. Footage from that encounter, which features an interview with Deacon Bill Quarles of First Trinity was posted to their Facebook page.

“We’re coming in and cleaning up neighborhoods. Through this show we’re going to do everything we can to bring light to the city of Flint.  We want the nation to always remember Flint and what has happened here because of this water crisis,” he said.

The official show teaser can be viewed by visiting www.facebook.com/justrenting.  Galvin said he’s hopeful that the show will be picked up by a network early in 2019.
