Flint Institute of Arts showing Neptune Frost this weekend

(Flint, MI) The Flint Institute of Arts is showing the Saul Williams and Anisia Uzeyman directed Neptune Frost, September 30 – October 2.
Neptune Frost, the official selection for Cannes, Sundance and Toronto Film Festival, has been hailed by the Hollywood Reporter as the “future of Black film. Pure cinematic power.”
This Afrofuturistic sci-fi musical takes on big subject matter – confronting war, capitalism, identity and libertion. In the hilltops of Burundi an anti-colonialist computer hacker collective attempts a takeover of the authoritarian regime that exploits the people and the natural resources.
The Flint Institute of Arts is only the second venue in Michigan to show Neptune Frost.
Unless indicated screenings are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. General Admission is $7, FIA Member admission is $6 and FOMA/Film Society Member admission is $5. Tickets may be purchased online at flintarts.org or at the box office.
