City of Flint Issues Holiday Message from the Mayor and Holiday Schedule for City Hall and City Services

FLINT, MI  In light of the upcoming holidays, the City of Flint has informed the public of city services that will be impacted, including the waste collection schedule. Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley also shared the following message:

“The holidays are a very special time of year, and I want to thank all City of Flint employees for their service throughout 2024, and Flint residents for their continued support and commitment to our community. We are making great progress in Flint, on many different levels. We will keep working hard for our city and make the most of new opportunities for economic growth and development, along with  public health and safety in the new year.”

Flint City Hall holiday hours

Flint City Hall will be closed to the public Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday and Tuesday, Dec. 31, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. The Flint Customer Service Center on Clio Road will also be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31, and Jan. 1, but will be open during regular business hours all other days.

The red drop box in front of City Hall will be available for residents to drop off water payments, property taxes, and other correspondence. Police, fire, the water service center, and the wastewater plant will continue to operate 24 hours a day. Flint City Hall will return to normal business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Waste collection delayed on Christmas Day and New Years Day

Waste collection will be delayed by one day on December 25, and January 1. Please refer to the waste collection map showing the delayed pickup schedule for all service areas. The normal waste collection schedule will resume the week of January 6.

Priority Waste will collect Christmas trees (without ornaments or lights) during the three weeks following Christmas. Waste is collected between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. All waste should be placed at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on collection days.
