City of Flint and local pastors kick off summer camp to combat violence

As part of Mayor Sheldon Neeley’s Executive Orders to combat crime, the city of Flint has partnered with Cathedral of Faith Church, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to create the Super Summer Fun Camp.
The camp will operate from 8:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday August  thru August 27. Kids ages 6-16 will receive free breakfast and lunch and participate in recreational, enrichment and intramural sports activities.
Neeley, Pastor Chris Martin, Community Foundation of Greater Flint officials and others will publicly announce the details of the camp registration and how this effort jump starts the mayor’s anti-crime initiative at 1:30pm on Tuesday July 27 on the lawn of Cathedral of Faith Church. The church is located at 6031 DuPont St., on the corner of Austin Ave.
