Recently, the Center for Tech and Civic Life awarded a grant to the Flint City Clerk’s Office, in the amount of $475,625, to support the public purpose of planning and operationalizing safe and secure election administration in the city of Flint.

On September 16,  the Flint City Council authorized city officials to accept the grant award.
The city clerk’s office has produced a plan for election administration in 2020, including an
administration assessment, budget estimates and an assessment of the impact of the plan on voters, i.e.
the City of Flint Safe Voting Plan 2020. Funds will be used to install eight additional ballot drop
boxes and security cameras to monitor the locations to ensure election security. Additional funds are
dedicated to increase staffing and pay for election inspectors, voter education and outreach efforts, as
well as additional election support.

The Flint City Clerk’s Office thanked the Center for Tech and Civil Life for its generous grant to
assist the city of Flint with safe elections, including the November General Election.

Voters requiring additional information about the Nov. 3 election should contact the Flint City Clerk’s
Office at (810) 766-7414.
