Back to the Bricks® Names Ed Benning as Grand Marshal for 21st Annual Car Show & Cruise

Flint, MI 05.01.2025 Back to the Bricks® has announced Edgar (Ed) Benning, General Manager and CEO of the Mass Transportation Authority (MTA) in Flint, Michigan, as the Official Grand Marshal for the 21st Annual Back to the Bricks® Car Show & Cruise.

Each year, the Back to the Bricks® Executive Committee selects a Grand Marshal who embodies dedication, community spirit, and pride in both their work and hometown. This year, Ed Benning stood out among a highly impressive group of nominees.

“We truly have hundreds of deserving individuals in our community,” said Amber Taylor, President of Back to the Bricks®. “The submissions were over the top this year, and reading the nominations gave me such pride for our community. Although we wish we could highlight them all, this year’s pick came down to the dedication and pride for community, outreach, and engagement they strive to have not only for their company, but for themselves. I know everyone will agree with us on this.”

As GM/CEO of the MTA, Benning oversees a system with 691 employees that serves Flint, Genesee County, and five surrounding counties, operating with an annual budget exceeding $50 million. Under his leadership, the MTA has launched innovative nonemergency transportation programs, particularly for local veterans and residents needing medicalrelated transit. The system has gained national acclaim as a model of excellence in public transportation.

Benning’s commitment to the community extends beyond the MTA, with active involvement in numerous professional and civic organizations. We are truly honored to have him be highlighted and honored during this years festivities. Said Taylor.
