Whether you want a catered event or a private chef, Terence Grundy of Awesome Food Catering Service wants to cook for you.

Grundy’s main concerns for your food are: taste, hospitality, swiftness of service and presentation.

Grundy had a sparkle in his eye when speaking of planning menus and parties.  Spending time in getting to know his clients and their dietary needs is important to Grundy.  He explained there are food allergies, likes and dislikes, the type of event being held and cultural preferences to take into account. Knowing client medical conditions, such as diabetes, can be an important part of being a private chef, he explained.

Grundy’s education began at the Genesee Career Center (formerly Genesee Area Skill Center), then at the Mott Community College Culinary school, of which he is a graduate.

To see a sample of what Grundy can do, you are invited to his upcoming birthday bash on March 3, at the Hasselbring Senior Center.  This benefit concert event is a fund-raiser for five charities: Hasselbring Senior Center, YWCA women’s programs, Odyssey House, My Brother’s Keeper and Carriage Town Ministries.

The event will feature Grundy’s wonderful food, of course, but will feature so much more. Expect to see a combination of his love of food, theater and the arts. You will see magic, a comedian, a band, spoken word, dance and more surprises.  The menu includes vegan and soul food, as well as other main dishes and sides.

Tickets are $15, $30 or $45. All proceeds will be donated to the above mentioned charities.

Ways to sign up are via Cash App ($Terence603), Facebook Pay (Terence Grundy), cash or check to Terence Grundy.  In all memos write “Benefit Concert Donation.” For more information go to Facebook and search for Terence Grundy.

Grundy is a man of God and a lifelong member of Greater New Bethel COGIC.  He believes in the healing power of prayer. He is a gospel soloist at his own church and often a guest singer at others. Grundy also sings gospel with friends under the name T.G. and Friends.

Grundy is the son of Dwight and Linda Grundy.

Grundy is also on the Board of Hasselbring Park, active in the theater arts and a licensed home health provider.

When asked what his dream goals were, Grundy smiled.  A food truck and making a meal for Former President Barrack Obama are at the top of his dream list, as well as being on the Food Network one day.
