American Advantage Home Care wins Comcast RISE award

DEARBORN, Mich. – American Advantage Home Care, a full-service home health care agency that provides 24/7 skilled medical and hospice care in mid- to southeast Michigan, has received a national Comcast RISE award.

Comcast RISE, which stands for Representation, Investment, Strength and Empowerment, was created in 2020 to support minority-owned businesses during the pandemic. The program invests in the success of these businesses by providing marketing tools to help advance digital equity.

“This is an incredible opportunity to amplify the benefits of home health care, especially for those who wish to age in place in the sanctuary and security of their own home,” said Cleamon Moorer Jr., DBA, American Advantage Home Care president.

“As the pandemic continues to shift the health care delivery system and telehealth options increase, the preference of quality, home-based care continues to grow,” Moorer added.

Since Moorer and his wife, Nicole Willis-Moorer, purchased the seven-year-old agency in 2019, daily patient census has increased 1,000%. Moorer credits the increase to the agency’s patient-centric focus, its multi-cultural staff, and patients’ desire to receive health care services in the safety of their home during the pandemic.

The duo has also put their stamp on the agency’s geographical service area. It previously served mostly patients in Dearborn. Now its service territory includes 10 SE Michigan counties and regional administrative offices in Grand Blanc, Detroit and Trenton. In support of its home health care clients, caregivers and family members, the agency sponsors the award-winning podcast/webcast “The Home Health Care Today Show,” created and hosted by Moorer.

American Advantage Home Care provides skilled home health care and hospice services.
