Community ‘Open Talk’ Event To Bring Mental, Emotional and Spiritual Healing to Flint

Flint, MI — The Flint community is being invited to Open Talk: Open to the Community, a free event creating a safe space for honest conversation around mental health, emotional healing and spiritual strength. The featured guest speaker is Minister Joyce Pryer (pictured).

The event will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at 1002 W. Home Avenue, Flint, MI.

Hosted by Dr. Alfreda Riley, Open Talk encourages open dialogue about challenges often left unspoken, helping participants reduce stigma, build connection and begin the healing process.

“Healing begins when we talk about it,” said Dr. Riley.

Event highlights include:
• Open community dialogue
• Mental health awareness
• Emotional healing support
• Spiritual encouragement

The event is open to the public, with vendors welcome, and is presented in partnership with the Mays Senior Center.
