SBEV Turns 10!

FLINT, MI – SBEV is inviting the community  in commemorating a decade of transformation and community empowerment at Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village (SBEV). Over the past ten years, SBEV has been dedicated to uplifting youth, strengthening families, and empowering communities in Flint. Now, as they look forward to our next chapter, they invite community members to join us them celebration.

Event Details:
● Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
● Location: SBEV Flint Location (Insight Building), 4400 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI 48507

This anniversary event includes fun-filled activities for all ages, including free food and drinks, bounce houses, games, and giveaways. Community, partner, and vendors are welcome stop by and celebrate a decade of impactful work.

“We’re thrilled to mark this significant milestone of ten years serving the Flint community,” said Maryum Rasool, SBEV President and CEO. “This event is a testament to the dedication and support of our community, partners, and the volunteers who have helped make this possible. I look forward to continuing working together to provide meaningful opportunities for the next generation.”

SBEV empowers youth in the Flint community through access, opportunity, and mentorship. They offer year-round programming for students ages 5-17 across three core pillars: academics, athletics, and arts. SBEV provides a wide range of engaging opportunities led by local professionals that allow young people to explore their passions, develop their talents, and grow into confident, capable leaders.
