Dead body found on Flint’s south side

On Friday, February 21, authorities found a dead and badly decomposed body on the south side of Flint. The authorities were looking for a missing juvenile at the time.

The body was found in the 1600 block of Kent Street, near Seymour Avenue.

Crews worked several hours to recover the body as the ground was frozen.

Later that night, Michigan State Police and Flint Police Department investigators searched the area for evidence.

The officers at the site could not immediately determine how the person died, how long the body had been at the location or how it ended up where it was.

According to Flint Police Chief Terence Green, forensic analysis will be used to help determine the person’s identity.
