Free empowerment event for local young people
[Flint, MI] — GEARUp2LEAD, a Flint-based non-profit organization, recently announced its annual GearUp4Success Conference: a free event dedicated to motivating and inspiring young people in high school up to 24-year-olds. GearUp4Success will be held on September 19, 2024, from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Mott Community College’s Ballenger Field House (401 E. Court St.,
Flint, MI 48503).
The GearUp4Success Conference aims to empower local young people by fostering positive mindsets and connecting them with the resources needed for success. Attendees will gain invaluable insights from the keynote speaker, local music producer, Jujuan Thorn, and other community members, focusing on four Keys to Success: Growth Mindset, Support Systems, Skills Development, and Opportunities.
Participants will hear inspiring success stories that highlight the resilience and accomplishments of young people who have overcome challenges. Additionally, the conference will feature a resource fair showcasing over 15+ local community resources, businesses and organizations that provide education, employment and support services.’
