Food trucks and fun – Foodie Commons @ the Flower Shop events start on May 1

Flint, MI – Communities First, Inc. (CFI), a local nonprofit, is getting ready to transform a former flower shop and blighted lot into a dynamic, engaging community destination in Flint’s Grand Traverse District. Focusing on food, music and fun, Foodie Commons @ the Flower Shop will offer a food truck park, event space complete with an outdoor stage, an open green space and covered seating after construction takes place.

“We want to invite community members to come out and support local businesses who are already doing great things with their food trucks here in Flint” said Glenn Wilson, president and CEO at Communities First.

“While we are still actively renovating the property, we’ll also be hosting food trucks on site this summer,” Wilson added.

Operating as a pop-up market prior to construction taking place, multiple food trucks will be at Foodie Commons (located at 402 West Court St. Flint, MI 48503) every Wednesday and Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., starting on Wednesday, May 3, and running through the end of October. For the most up to date information on which food trucks will be at Foodie Commons, visit the CFI’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/communitiesfirstinc

“Stop by and grab something delicious from one of our food truck partners.” said Joel Arnold, planning & advocacy manager at Communities First, Inc.

“From BBQ and salads to tacos and more, come out and see what great foods our local entrepreneurs are making!” Arnold added.
