Flint United Basketball, The Flint Children’s Museum host custom Jersey Design Event for kids

Flint United Basketball is partnering with The Flint Children’s Museum on a custom uniform design event for visiting families. Kids will color and design elements to be featured on Flint United jerseys at a home game during the season.

“We are so excited for this partnership,” said Kevin Mays, owner and president of Flint United Basketball.

“It’s more than basketball, it’s an introduction to design, brand development, and professional sports,” Mays added.

The uniforms will also be used as collectible fundraising items at the annual Flint Children’s Museum Fundraiser taking place this summer, June 16, 2023.

“The kids are going to love meeting the team!” said Kimberly Roddy, executive director.

“It’s a rare opportunity to interact one-on-one with the players of Flint United Basketball,” Roddy added. “Kids will ask us questions like, “are they really basketball players” and of course, the answer is yes. Their interactions with the team will inspire and empower the children to pursue what they love, and recognize that their dreams, whatever they are, are not out of reach.”

The kids will also receive a commemorative print of their work authenticated by Flint United Basketball.

Players will be visiting the museum to assist in the design process from 12-3 p.m. on December 3. Attendance will be limited to the first 125 registrants, visit www.flintchildrensmuseum.org or Eventbrite to register.
