Written By Jameca Patrick-Singleton

Flint Community Schools has yet to fill the seat vacated by Former School Board President Dr. Danielle Green. Green resigned from the board more than thirty days ago. Since the board has not appointed a replacement, the responsibility to do so falls in the Genesee Intermediate School District.

The selected person will only serve as an appointee for a short time as Green’s term ended at the end of this year.

Flint residents who are registered to vote are eligible to apply for the temporary appointment. Interested persons should send a one-page resume to the GISD. Resumes should be addressed to Richard Hill, president of the Genesee Intermediate School District Board of Education, 2413 W. Maple Ave., Flint, MI 48507. Persons selected for interviews will be invited to a public interview panel scheduled for October 18, 2022.

Fifteen candidates have been certified to run for five seats, including the one that was occupied by Green in the November elections.
