Who’s eligible for an extra dose of COVID-19 vaccine 18+

Questions and Answers

Question: If I am 18+, got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and am moderately to severely immunocompromised am I eligible for an extra dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and, if so, when?

Answer 1: You should get an additional third dose of the same type of vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) at least 28 days after your second dose.

Answer 2: You should receive a single booster dose at least five months after completing your third dose (Pfizer or Moderna is preferred.)

 

Question: If I am 18+, got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and am NOT moderately to severely immunocompromised, am I eligible to get an extra dose of COVID-19 vaccine and, if so, when?

Answer 1: If you are 18+, got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, are NOT moderately to severely immunocompromised and it has been at least five months after your second dose, you should get a booster dose at least five months after your second dose. (Pfizer or Moderna is preferred.)

Answer 2: If you are 18+, got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine,  NOT moderately to severely immunocompromised and it has NOT been at least five months after your second dose, you are NOT eligible for a booster dose of vaccine at this time.

 

Question: If I am 18+, and got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, am I eligible for an extra does of COVID-19 vaccine, and, if so, when?

Answer 1: If you got the Johnson & Johnson and it has been at least two months after your initial dose, you should get a booster at least two months after your initial dose. (Pfizer or Moderna is preferred.)

Answer 2: If you got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and it has NOT been at least two months after your initial dose, you are NOT eligible for a booster dose at this time.
