Congressman Dan Kildee to participate in food distribution at R. L. Jones Community Outreach Center in Flint on Thursday

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, will participate in food distribution at R. L. Jones Community Outreach Center at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, June 10, in Flint. Congressman Kildee will be joined by Mother Sandra Jones of the Greater Holy Temple and local leaders of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

Funding of up to $1 billion, including $500 million from the American Rescue Plan, supported by Congressman Kildee and signed into law by President Biden, will be used to purchase fresh foods from farmers to distribute to food banks, non-profits and restaurants in need, including expanding food assistance programs into rural, remote and underserved communities.
