Old Fashioned Turkey Trot

Old Fashioned Turkey Trot

Vernon Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church invites community members to join them on Thanksgiving Day morning at 9 a.m. for an old fashioned Turkey Trot. Organizers of the event, Vernon Chapel Church, the Max Brandon family, Friends of Max Brandon Park, and the Neighborhood Restoration Coalition will gather at Max Brandon Park (formerly Forrest Park located on Pasadena and Dupont Streets) to renew community spirit and promote healthy living.

The Rev. Dr. Byron C. Moore, an avid promoter of the 1.25 mile walk says “Thanksgiving is the holiday all persons can celebrate no matter their faith, culture or ethnicity. Appreciation for life and blessings is manifested by all groups of people. The Vernon Chapel AME Church family and the greater Flint community want to begin their celebration of Thanksgiving with a Turkey Trot. Remember TROT stands for Together Recognizing Our Thankfulness, said Rev. Moore, Pastor of Vernon Chapel AME Church.

To register for the event email vernonameflint@yahoo.com or call (810)785-5721. Commemorative Tee-shirts free with registration: ($10) Adults / ($5) Seniors and children- under ten years of age.
