68-year-old local woman sentenced for embezzlement on Wednesday

A 68-year-old Flint woman has pled guilty to embezzling a man she was in a long-term relationship with and was sentenced to probation on Wednesday, November 6. Constance Roberts pled guilty to committing this crime for over three years. The victim was 20 years older and in cognitive decline.

Roberts had previously pled no contest in September. She was sentenced to 36 months of probation. She also has agreed to repay $500,000 of the money she stole and forfeit six vehicles to be auctioned, with the money going to the victim.

Additionally, Roberts is accused of embezzling on her tax returns and owes more than $52,000 in back.  She is expected to pay $1,000 monthly for restitution for the back taxes.
