37-year-old man found shot and dead near Hurley Hospital

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at around 7:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to Mason Street and 7th Avenue, near Hurley Hospital, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that crashed into a tree, and the victim, 37-year-old Roy Anthony Leonard, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Leonard was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation on-going.

Leonard’s mother, Lillian Fordham. has lost two sons to similar gun violence crimes, along with a niece. Additionally, the mother of her grandson died in 2018 due to gun violence.

So, following Leonard’s recent death, Fordham’s 9-year old grandchild is left without either parent.

Fordhams’s other son, 29-year-old Ricko Fordham, was found shot and dead on Lincoln Avenue, in his silver Nissan Altima, on July 3, 2020.

Anyone with information is on either the homicide of Roy Anthony Leonard or Ricko Fordham can anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800422-JAIL (5245) or by visiting CrimeStoppersofFlint.com.
